COMPETITOR INFORMATION

Entries

• Entries close Friday 10 March 2025 @ 7pm – no late entries or on the day entries will be accepted.
• Entries are confirmed once payment is received using this booking form.
• Competitors only receive free entry to the grounds.
• Upon arrival, please report directly to the Admin tent located at the bottom of the grandstand to collect your wristband (must be worn) and purchased hangi ticket/s.
• All entries include an authorised Waimarino Shears branded singlet. This must be worn while competing. Singlets require a $10 compulsory surcharge.    Please advise your sizing in booking form.

Te Reo Māori

• All heats, semis and finals will commence in Te Reo Māori.
• Kaiwhakawā - Judges
• Kaiwhakataetae - competitors
• Kia rite – get set
• Tukua – go!

Prize money

• All prize money will be paid directly into the winners' bank accounts on the day.
• You will be required to provide your bank details to include: account name and number. This section is in the booking form for your entries. This must be completed.

The following grades and prize money will incur a tax deduction of the following:

• Te Whiringa senior circuit FINAL 1-4 winners will receive a tax deduction of $5 each.
• Senior grade 1–4 winners will receive a tax deduction of $5 each.
• Open grade 1–4 winners will receive a tax deduction of $30 each.
• Speed shear 1st place will receive a tax deduction of $300
• Speed shear 2nd place will receive a tax deduction of $100

Speed shear competition OPEN GRADE ONLY

• 6.30pm-9pm in Marquee, followed by a function that concludes at 12.30am.
• All open speed shear competitors receive free entry to the event and function.
• Tickets for speed shear can be purchased in the booking form and/or on the day if any are available.
• Speed shear tickets can be collected from the admin tent from 12 noon on Saturday.

Competitor Hangi

• Hangi can be purchased by each competitor for $10. Please choose the hangi box in the booking form.
