DESCRIPTION:This is a three-day course open to Intermediate - Senior\nlevel shearers to gain confidence and better their skills in the\nshearing industry. The course will involve networking opportunities\nwith like-minded people, team bonding activities, goal-setting, and\nalso cover instruction and practical training in the following: \n\n• Health and safety in the Industry and woolshed environment\n\n• Animal welfare and animal handling \n\n• Team work\n\n• Comb selection and gear experting\n\n• Grinding (sharpening) combs and cutters \n\n• A high level of instruction on pattern, and helping improve\nquality and tallies\n\n• Practical assessment for the National Certificate in Shearing\n\nBasic woolhandling training is part of the programme.
