High performance Lamb Shearing Course.
This is a two-day course open to those who have been shearing in the industry and have achieved the minimum of the "Blue Seal" (shear 6 sheep per hour), or can shear 100 + sheep per day. The course will cover instruction and practical training in the following:
- Adjusting your lamb shearing pattern (if necessary) with some of the best instructors around.
- Focus on minimising common shearing faults
- Comb selection and gear sessions
- Machine and Handpiece Maintenance
- Grinding (sharpening) Combs and Cutters
- Health and Safety in the Industry.
- Animal Welfare and Animal Handling
- High level of instruction on pattern, and helping improve quality and tallies
- A pathway to the next level
Animal Welfare & Calm Sheep Handling Course
We're offering our Animal Welfare & Calm Sheep Handling Course FREE to anyone booked on our upcoming Lamb Shearing Courses — normally £65. This course is an optional add-on, but we believe it will be extremely beneficial to anyone heading to New Zealand this season.
New Zealand is set to welcome hundreds of shearers and shed staff from across the globe for the season, and employers will be looking for workers who understand their responsibilities under the New Zealand Animal Welfare Act 1999.
This short online course covers calm, respectful sheep handling and helps show contractors, employers, and immigration that you're serious about working to New Zealand industry standards.
Once completed, we'll keep your training on record, and you'll receive a certificate you can share as proof of completion.
