Improver Shearing Course

This "Improver Course" is a three-day course open to those who have been shearing in the industry and have achieved the minimum of the "Blue Seal" or can shear between 80 and 240 sheep per day. The course will cover instruction on shearing technique, and practical training in the following: 

  • Health and Safety in the Industry and Woolshed environment
  • Animal Welfare and Animal Handling 
  • Team Work
  • Comb selection and gear experting
  • Machine and Handpiece Maintenance
  • Grinding (sharpening) Combs and Cutters 
  • High level of instruction on pattern, and helping improve quality and tallies
  • A pathway to the next level
