Advanced Shearing

This is a three-day course open to those who have been shearing in the industry and have achieved the minimum of the "Blue Seal" (shear 6 sheep per hour). The course will cover instruction and practical training in the following:

Health and Safety in the Industry and Woolshed environment
Animal Welfare and Animal Handling
Team Work
Comb selection and gear experting
Machine and Handpiece Maintenance
Grinding (sharpening) Combs and Cutters
High level of instruction on pattern, and helping improve quality and tallies
A pathway to the next level

Woolhandling

Two day practical course
For woolhandlers of all experience levels
Health & Safety
Preperation guidelines for crossbred - full wool/2nd shear and merino
Wool terminology
Non-technical exercises
Theory exercises
Practical assessment for the National Certificate in Woolhandling
