Advanced Shearing

This is a three-day course (15th - 17th July) open to those who have been shearing in the industry, have experience of shearing strong wool sheep types and would like to either learn or up-skill with shearing finewool sheep types. The course will cover instruction and practical training in the following: 

• Health and Safety in the industry and woolshed environment
• Animal Welfare and Animal Handling 
• Team Work
• Comb selection and gear experting
• Machine and Handpiece Maintenance
• Grinding (sharpening) combs and cutters 
• High level of instruction on finewool shearing pattern
• Helping improve quality and tallies
• A pathway to the next level
• Practical assessment for the National Certificate in Shearing (Finewool)
